AI Shopping Assistant ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Shopify application.
Information We Collect
Information from Shopify Merchants
When you install our app, we collect:
- Store Information: Your store name, domain, and Shopify store ID
- Product Data: Product titles, descriptions, prices, variants, and images to power AI responses
- Order Data: Order IDs linked to conversations for conversion attribution (only with your permission)
Information from Store Visitors
When customers interact with the chat widget, we collect:
- Conversation Data: Messages exchanged with the AI assistant
- Session Data: Anonymous session identifiers to track conversation continuity
- Interaction Data: Products viewed, items added to cart through the widget
We do NOT collect: Names, email addresses, payment information, or other personal identifiers from store visitors unless explicitly provided in conversation.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to:
- Provide AI-powered product recommendations and answer customer questions
- Track conversion metrics and provide analytics to merchants
- Improve our AI models and service quality
- Communicate with merchants about their account and service updates
Data Sharing
We may share information with:
- Anthropic: Conversation data is processed by Claude AI to generate responses
- Supabase: Our database provider for secure data storage
- Shopify: Integration with your Shopify store as required
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Data Retention
We retain conversation data for 90 days for analytics purposes. Product data is retained as long as your app is installed. When you uninstall the app, we delete all your data within 48 hours as required by Shopify guidelines.
Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union, you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your data
- Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your data
- Portability: Request your data in a portable format
